Twilight Swap - Matchbox

Well, I can now share my first altered matchbox! This was done for the 15 days of twilight shoebox swap on the CMB. I posted a sneak peek of the charm - here is the whole project! For one of the  days we were to alter a matchbox, and then put inside: 2 stickpins, 2 flowers, and a charm. I had multiple stickpins so I put 4 in the box. I just learned how to make the lollipop fabric flowers. This is also my first  charm I made. So, this was a project of firsts all around! I had so much fun making this matchbox. I think it may be my favorite thing out of the whole shoebox.

Happy Easter everyone! Hope you all are having a wonderful day.  I spent a lot of this weekend working on a swap that's due next Saturday - it's a Twilight shoebox swap. I am so excited about getting this mailed out! For a lot of the items, it was my first time making it - altered matchbox, chunky charm, altered notebook, etc.

I worked on my matchbox last night and just love it! I hope my partner will too. I think it turned out pretty good with it being my first one. I don't want to give anything away, but I do want to post a sneak peek. This is of something INSIDE the box. And I will post pics once I mail it out and she receives it.

Blog Candy Winner Posted!!!

I want to start by thanking everyone for a great successful first blog hop! It was so much fun, and there was so much talent showcased. Very cute box- great colors. I didn't use to be a fan of glimmer mist but when I found out all of the things I could "color" with it I am a convert! Thanks for sharing! Kim aka coyotekim

Bashful Bunny Blog Hop

I am so excited to be participating in my first Blog Hop. These are a great group of ladies that are on the Cricut MessageBoard. We were in a "secret bunny" swap and just have way too much fun together! What would go better with the bunny theme than a blog "HOP"?? You should have arrived here from the wonderful Sheri @ Somewhere Over The Rainbow. If you are coming into the middle of the hop, why don't you go ahead and start at the beginning with Julie? It will be lots of fun and you are bound to be inspired!

We were supposed to make something with an Easter/Spring theme. I made what I call a "Trinket Box". I started out with a plain paper mache box (in an egg shape!). I painted it with acrylic turquoise paint, then glimmermisted it to make it sparkle. I then added some paper flowers, rhinestones, ribbon and a butterfly. The butterfly was part of a 3 pack that I found at the Dollar Tree. I didn't have quite the right color of ribbon that I wanted to use around the bottom part of the box, so I used white ribbon and glimmermisted it for that wonderful lavendar color.  Then, of course I had to place some special bunnies inside to top it all off!

Stickpin Swap

I signed up for my first stickpin swap, and here's what I made. These are very fun to make, and I know that they are gonna become addicting too!

Spring Swap

I also just sent out items for a Spring Swap on the MB. The groups I was in were Tags; ATCs; Twinchies; and Paperclips. For the tag I found a tutorial on making flowers with a scallop punch. Some are pink/purple and some are blue/green. For the ATCs I found another tutorial on using baby wipes - so that is what I used for the rainbow. I then cut out the butterfly from the Wall Decor cart and glimmermisted it. For the twinchies I cut the flower from the Paisley cart, added a rhinestone to the middle and a few stickles on the edge. The hummingbird on the paperclip was cut from Paisley and then stickled (of course!)

Paper clip swap

So I've been participating in some Swaps at the Cricut MB. One that I just sent out was a paper clip swap. I was in 4 different groups. In the Wild (animal related); Out on the town (girlie or vegas); Months of the year (I had september); and Down the Aisle (wedding related). For In the Wild I cut the turtle from Create a Critter cart and used a MS glitter pen instead of stickles. For Out on the Town I cut a high heel shoe from the Wall Decor cart and used glimmermist on it. For the month of September I couldn't decide on an acorn or a leave, so I did both, they were cut from Stretch Your Imagination cart (I think). And for Down the Aisle I cut the wedding bell from Stretch Your Imagination and then used glimmermist on the whole top.
